Coatings form a crucial part of the industry sector and play a vital role in protecting materials against corrosion, wear, and other forms of damage. An important advantage of applying a coating is that it extends the lifespan of materials and substrates, thereby minimising downtime due to maintenance.

Another significant aspect of coatings is that they can contribute to improving (process) performance. Coatings can ensure that substrates and objects are more resistant to extreme temperatures, chemicals, moisture, and other environmental factors. Additionally, coatings can provide an antistatic (ESD) effect for applications where electrical conductivity is required or are specifically suitable for food and water storage and treatment.

There are various types of coatings used in the industrial sector, including polyurea, polyurethane, and epoxy-based coatings. Each type of coating has its unique properties and benefits. The choice depends on the specific application, environment, and situation.

Substrates can vary widely depending on the application. Prokol offers a comprehensive range of products, ensuring that a suitable solution can be provided for every substrate.

For instance, there are coatings/liners applied using the hotspray technique. With this method, a product is sprayed under high pressure and heat. The short reaction time of a few seconds allows the coating to completely adhere to a substrate. Special shapes and complex details can thus be seamlessly and effortlessly finished with this method.

For each application, the most suitable hotspray product is chosen based on the specific situation. For instance, when working with drinking water, Rocathaan Hotspray 490-PWB meets the necessary standards because this product includes a safety drinking water certification. However, in cases involving water/fluid containment and/or processing where a certification is not required, Rocathaan Hotspray 136-T, with its waterproof characteristics, provides a solution. Both hotspray coatings own unique as well as overlapping properties, including a fast-curing time that minimises or eliminates delays in the industrial facility’s production processes.

Some examples of industrial applications include silos, chutes, floors in cooling and freezing rooms, storage tanks, loading and unloading areas, containment basins, or secondary containment, as well as drinking water and wastewater installations.

Despite the numerous possibilities offered by hotspray, floor protection should not be overlooked. There are several options available in addition to hotspray coatings. Prokol provides various manually applicable floor coatings and cast floors, each equipped with a set of unique and overlapping properties.

With so many options, choosing the right product may lead to uncertainty. Please look at the system sheets for more information about a specific application. If you have remaining questions or a unique situation you’d like to discuss, feel free to contact Prokol. We are eager to take on the challenge with you.
